01 · About
At age ten, I started experimenting with software — and built an operating system just so I could play every game I wanted.
Somewhere along the way I forgot the whole point was the games, and started building emulators, custom widgets, and eventually modified the hardware to run them on. That was 2005, and it never stopped.
Fast-forward to today: I'm passionate about setting up the most efficient software possible, leading teams, and making the complex feel simple.

Went freelance for autonomy and responsibility. Leads complex trajectories end-to-end, makes strategic technical decisions, and delivers maintainable solutions that keep paying off long-term.

Started as a front-end developer, grew into full-stack, then into management. Mentored developers in writing structured code, debugging, and handling clients — while shipping products across the stack.

Stepped into a behind-schedule, over-complex codebase and shipped a stable, presentable core product within four months. Rewrote the architecture around Separation of Concerns, built a scalable long-term strategy, and advised the team on tooling and hardware-software integration.
Migrated 15 years of legacy data into a new structure, spun up Kubernetes clusters across the US, Europe and Australia, and built the runners and APIs to keep it all in sync.
Led research into a database capable of 10,000 iterations per second — completing it with AlloyDB after evaluating Redis and ElasticSearch alternatives.
Led a team of six building a fintech app from scratch, replacing a 20-year-old PHP codebase — covering client alignment, sprint planning and developer training along the way.
Built a modular setup that runs either the original app or the ASR Vitality webview from a single build — then maintained the webview.
Automated the mortgage-advisory process, integrating a React front-end with existing infrastructure and the back-end services behind it.
For the largest mortgage-advisory software company in the Netherlands: React expert, sprint planning, and mentoring developers toward maintainable solutions.
Set up a mailing-campaign application while coaching two junior developers on architecture and client handling.
Upgraded an existing product to Angular 8, wired up the APIs, recreated the design and owned client planning.
